Co-living is a popular form of housing where residents share living space along with a set of interests, values, and/or intentions. This alternative form of housing provides more density in our cities at a more affordable rate. Co-Living promotes social networking and a sense of community by allowing residents to share common spaces. A new take on an old idea, Co-Living is geared towards a millennial generation that values things like openness and collaboration, social networking, and the sharing economy.

Situated in Mid City, Los Angeles, the building is a 17,800 square foot Co-Living project that consists of 5 three-story townhomes offering 30 bedrooms. The massing and scale is mindful of the surrounding multi-family and single family residential neighborhood condition. The three- story building massing is broken up into 5 distinct townhomes atop the concrete podium. The simplicity of the building form takes clues from the familiar stucco gabled roof building typology that is familiar throughout Los Angeles. The project is organized around the second story courtyard that serves as the social hub. The elevated units have unobstructed views of the Hollywood Hills, Downtown LA, Culver City.
