BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF GREATER LOWELL
The Tighe team has been retained by the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lowell to design the renovation and expansion of the Club’s facilities. The Club provides diverse programs dedicated to academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship. The architectural design reflects the theme of the project to “Believe & Become”, a vision of the future with state-of-the-art facilities inspiring young members to learn the 21st Century skills needed to become successful adults and end generational poverty.

Boys & Girls Club
The project will update and expand the building envelope, all major building systems, program spaces, and administration offices, so as to improve member physical comfort and safety, meet accessibility requirements in all spaces, and incorporate energy efficient features.
Program spaces include: a full commercial kitchen and cafeteria; a gym and adjacent fitness rooms; music clubhouse; social recreation rooms; STEM/STEAM spaces including robotics, makerspace, career and college readiness, educational enrichment and homework help. Spaces will be designed to allow the expansion of services from 300 youth ages 8-18 each day up to 600 youth each day. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2021.
