The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lowell includes the renovation and addition to an existing outdated facility. Located within close proximity to downtown Lowell, the new club will include 65,000 sq ft of space. The new design makes a strong connection with the adjacent Clemente Park and the National Historic Park Canal Parkway.
BURBANK CONNEXION
BURBANK, CA
Located in the heart of downtown Burbank, this project consists of a series of interventions that are imposed to two existing nondescript office buildings. The architecture is part of a larger rebranding effort for the newly energized office campus. The new entries and interior common spaces provide a dynamic environment for the creative professional tenants. A material palette of perforated steel panels, plywood surfaces and various lighting strategies energize the spaces. The layering of building materials, pattern and shadow define circulation and other areas of activity. The interventions transform the existing once-corporate entrances and lobbies into a new vibrant, welcoming environment. The use of a common building material palette strategically applied in similar ways throughout the various spaces offers a unifying approach to way-finding. The result is a new identity for the office campus.
